Bike Storage with a Purpose

What does a bike garage look like if we truly want people to kick their dependency on cars?

For many developers, bike parking is an afterthought — a zoning requirement to check off with as little investment as possible.

At Kindred (and across all our projects), we knew that creating a seamless car-free lifestyle meant making the alternatives to driving practical, convenient, and even fun.

Here’s what that looks like in our bike garage:
➡️ Assigned cargo and standard stalls — enough for every home. Across our projects, we average 1.7–1.9 stalls per bedroom.
➡️ Overhead bay door entry — hands-free, no awkward doors.
➡️ Electric charging at every stall — with overhead cord reels for cargo bikes.
➡️ Adaptable storage shelves — for everything from wet gear to rain covers to spare tires.
➡️ Comprehensive repair station — equipped for complete teardown and rebuilds.
➡️ Extra maneuvering space — so loading and unloading is easy without blocking other riders.

We’ve put a special emphasis on cargo bikes. Ask any owner and they’ll tell you: they’re life changing. Cargo bikes are direct car replacements, and their culture is blossoming here in Victoria. But they take more room, don’t fit well in typical bike rooms, and represent a significant household investment — so safe, secure, and accessible storage is essential.
